An Oldham Coliseum Theatre Production
The Father

Translated by Christopher Hampton
Starring Kenneth Alan Taylor

Andre is 80 years old. He had a wonderful career as a tap dancer. He lives with his daughter Anne and her husband Antoine in a chic Parisian apartment. Or was he once an engineer whose daughter Anne now lives in London with her new partner, Pierre? The thing is he can’t quite remember, and he can’t find his watch…

The Father portrays the devastating impact of dementia on one man and the people in his life.  The Father is both intensely moving and very funny.

Kenneth Alan Taylor plays Andre: “Of all the plays I’ve appeared in, I think this is the most exciting. This play has everything.”

The Father won the Molière Award, France’s most prestigious theatre award, plus a clutch of awards on New York’s Broadway and was The Guardian’s Pick of the Year. This funny and moving play that captivated London, New York and Paris gets its North West premiere here in Oldham.
